For more than 180 years, Bethel University has provided high quality, state-of-the-art education in West Tennessee, while keeping its deep traditions and history. Bethel University was founded as Bethel Seminary in 1842 in McLemoresville, TN, operating under the fostering care of West Tennessee Synod of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1847, it was granted a charter by the State of Tennessee and operated as Bethel College until 2009, when its trustees voted to change its name to Bethel University.
Today, the university offers 30+ bachelor's degrees, five associate's degrees, five master's degrees, and two non-degree licensures. Its athletics program contains 21 sports teams, including co-ed archery, bass fishing, and esports.
Bethel University's renowned Renaissance Performing Arts Experience is made up of four divisions - Vocal, Instrumental, Theatre, and Production - providing talented students with the opportunity to earn scholarships, find community, and gain hands-on professional experience.
